Weekend Visit: The Granary, Brigham

Hi guys,

So, at Christmas, instead of buying gift sets and chocolate for my family, I decided to book us a weekend away. We had such a good time and the cottage I booked for the two nights was beautiful. I would definitely recommend this type of gift, although it can be a bit difficult to get dates that everyone can go to!

The cottage was The Granary and is part of The Bridge Farm Holiday Cottages, you can view here. It is part of a little group of cottages that have been converted from farm buildings. It was located in a tiny little area of Driffield called Brigham.

Although there weren't any children in our group, the cottage would have been an excellent place for them to stay as they had made it extremely child friendly. There were even cupboards with highchairs and travel cots in.

The Granary is a four bedroom cottage; one of the rooms is en-suite and there are an additional two bathrooms. It also has a large kitchen diner and a lovely living room with a woodburning stove.

Shared courtyard area - gorgeous with a table and chairs and brick built BBQ. Perfect for Summer.

There is a games room onsite with ping pong, snooker and pool table as well as lots of children's games and board games. There was even a barn with children's ride along toys in!

The best part about the whole weekend was that the cottage was on a farm. Just a couple of metres from The Granary was a chicken coop, duck pond and a few fields with sheep, a horse and a couple of naughty goats.

We collected eggs from the coop for our breakfast and fed the animals fresh fruit and veg, encouraged my the owner.

The owners had gone above and beyond. We got a bottle of wine and some packs of biscuits upon arrival. The kitchen was so well stocked with cutlery and pots and pans, it was unbelievable; it put mine to shame.

We also took some DVDs along to watch but there were plenty to choose from in the games room as well. Even though the weather was slightly chilly, the underfloor heating definitely helped.

We had a gorgeous time here and we will definitely be revisiting!

Have you had any gorgeous weekend stays??
